The Hidden Rainbow

It’s still pretty early in the spring season here in Fort Worth and you wouldn’t notice much color at first glance walking up to my house, but if you did a double take you’ll see all the hidden treasures that await you.

There is some dianthus still growing from this past winter.

Borage. One of my favorite things to grow. This plant grew from a seed that fell last fall.

Rosebud in Ashleigh’s Garden.

Tulips. I used to like tulips but they bloom once and then its over. I leave them just to have something to look in spring.

I honestly don’t know what this is. It was packaged in a packet of wildflower seeds that I planted about 4 years ago. I love it. It’s only around in the spring and then seeds and dies off.

Some salvia that lines the path in Ashleigh’s garden. Comes back every year. Great border plant.

“It’s a beautiful flower!” This is frequently said by Zoe when she see’s dandelions. They don’t bother me too much so I just leave them for Zoe to pick.

One of my favorite flowers. Black-eyed Susan.

Chard. The color is all in the stalk!

Stinky jasmine flowers.

Your unknown almost looks like some kind of poppy. I’ll take a look around at lunch.

The flowers are about the size of a quarter.
