Rosemary & The Side Bed

So. The side flower bed. Eventually this area will be a flower garden and not a vegetable garden but until then it is a veg-flower hybrid. I wanted to get started on the planning phase of the flower garden and I decided that it was time to start working on it. After discussing over what we envisioned for this area, my husband and I agreed on having rosemary as a background for up against the house. In a couple of years it will fill out and create a nice base for this area.

Some sale plants of salvia and angelonia (I thought it was a salvia until I got home and saw otherwise on the tag) made their way home in order to stagger and fill out the area until the rosemary gets bushy. I’m trying to come up with some good groundcover and low growing flowering plants to fill out the area too, but that’ll be something to brainstorm on in coming weeks.

Like most gardeners who like to collect multiple varieties of a plant, we have four different types along the wall of the house.

The first one we bought was BBQ Rosemary. The draw for this was that it is good for grilling.

Should be nice to walk through when it fill out!

Didn’t realize there were different kinds of rosemary. Wonder what I have? I think I need to plant it in the ground or a bigger pot.
